C’est la UAT
User acceptance testing

User acceptance testing (UAT) is one of the final stages of a software project and will often occur before the customer accepts a new system.
Users of the system will perform these tests which, ideally, developers have derived from the User Requirements Specification, to which the system should conform.
Test designers will draw up a formal test plan and devise a range of severity levels. The focus in this type of testing is less on simple problems (spelling mistakes, cosmetic problems) and show stoppers (major problems like the software crashing, software will not run etc.). Developers should have worked out these issues during unit testing and integration testing. Rather, the focus is on a final verification of the required business function and flow of the system. The test scripts will emulate real-world usage of the system. The idea is that if the software works as intended and without issues during a simulation of normal use, it will work just the same in production.
Results of these tests will allow both the customers and the developers to be confident that the system will work as intended.
Accade invece che le specifiche siano decise dal marketing, implementate da programmatori esterni e l’utente mandato a seguire l’UAT veda un gruppetto di persone ad un tavolo che bisbigliano sottovoce di questo o di quello.
Accade che così tra il giorno e la notte il vecchio tool viene rimpiazzato dal nuovo e quando faccio notare che
- inserire un contenuto in fondo ad una pagina e ritrovarlo in un box scrollando nuovamente in alto una serie infinita di link testuali
- posizionare i link, anch’essi testuali che i bottoni costano, commit e delete a sinistra ed in quest’ordine
sono violazioni dei concetti base dell’usabilità e dell’ergonomia vengo accolto da un sorrisetto che dice sì vabbè ma che te frega basta che funzioni.
Già, basta che funzioni. Invece ho clonato 5 workspace apportato le modifiche previste dal palinsesto alla grid di home base, effettuato il logout e logandomi come approver ho approvato per le diverse proposition con il go-live previsto alle ore 19 di venerdì.
E non è successo nulla. Non funziona. Tutte le modifiche in palinsesto sulla homebase possono pure andare nel cesso. Tanto qui fanno tutti il ponte a parte noi e quattro stronzi di presidio dell’IT che non hanno saputo fornire risposta al trouble ticket che ho aperto in merito al disservizio.
Restiamo qui in un complesso deserto a roderci il fegato.
Avrei potuto prendere qualche giorno di ferie per fare ponte ma tanto la persona con cui l’avrei voluto passare non c’è.
Però avrò il primo novembre libero ed avrei preferito lavorare che almeno mi pagano di più per fare come al solito (per ora) un cazzo. Invece ho un meraviglioso giorno libero ma non posso dormire fino a tardi perchè passa la donna delle pulizie, non posso andare a fare la spesa perchè è tutto chiuso e tolta la spesa l’altra mia occupazione nel tempo libero e aspettare che si liberi una lavatrice nel locale lavanderia per fare il bucato. Ma l’ho già fatto ieri dopo aver incassato il solito pacco a fronte della richiesta di un cambio turno per avere la sera libera. Mi resta il mio appartamento nel residence dove non ho dvd, libri o xbox e nemmeno internet per sfogarmi un po’.
Potrei tornare a Genova ma sono stanco di farlo appena ho 24 ore libere e poi ora non ho nemmeno più una casa a cui tornare visto che avevo deciso di andare via comunque per inseguire qualcosa che comunque non c’è e non ci sarà.
